"My Dad has always loved making things with his hands," says Ricky MacDougall, "and anytime we passed a workshop - from the mechanic's shop to the local woodworking artisans - it's nearly impossible to get him out. And in the stories, he would always ask us to describe the machines we thought the ghosts could use for work or for free time. I don't remember him ever building one, but I know he would have loved to."

Cooper MacDougall is a writer and illustrator best known for his "Spooky Ghost" series of children's books. His work has garnered several awards, including the Meekersville Municipal Prize for Publishing and the Maltese Medal for Children's Literature (for which he had to interrupt his vacation to receive his award - his wife was completely furious).
