Spaceman Jax Model Sheet

Print

This reproduction of the original Spaceman Jax model sheet is a limited edition giclée print and all are signed by designer Philip La Carta.

Spaceman Jax had a heart of gold and the intellect of a Ploridian Lunar Beast.  He was brave, loyal and so blissfully unaware of his own ineptitude.  We should all be so confident.

And all of that was communicated by Philip La Carta’s brilliant design of Spaceman Jax.  La Carta designed many of our favorite characters of the period, such as Brigadier Buffalo and Manfred J. Platypus, P.I., but Spaceman Jax was up there with some of his best work.

Though La Carta retired long ago, he agreed to sign each print for us, saying “I never thought I’d be looking at these drawings some 50 years later.”  We can’t stop looking at them.

Each print is hand numbered, one of only 1000 prints, and signed by the artist. As with all our products, this print comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Spaceman Jax

Spaceman Jax and the Galactic Adventures was first broadcast in 1961, sponsored by Sunnington Morn Breakfast Cereals. It was created by Bill Pendergast and Leo Ulrich, and designed by Philip La Carta (who also designed Brigadier Buffalo and Manfred J. Platypus, P.I.). The show was the first big success for p.u.d. Film, and though it originally ran for just three seasons, it has continued to enjoy success in syndication.
