A good time for toys

Don’t you just love it when two of your favorites come together?

We couldn’t be more thrilled that Swiss watchmaker Swatch has teamed up with vinyl art toy specialist Kidrobot for a special collection of watches and toys.  The collection combines Swatch’s classic ‘Gent’ watch with Kidrobot’s ‘Dunny’ – an iconic and customizable 3-inch vinyl toy.  Put these in the hands of exceptional artists: Gary Baseman, Jeremyville, Frank Kozik, Joe Ledbetter, MAD, Tara McPherson, SSUR, and Tilt and you’ve got a great combo!

Kidrobot and Swatch asked each of these artists to put their unique mark on a watch/Dunny pair.  Each pair is packaged together with a limited edition number (of only 300), and while all of the Dunnies are available in the 3-inch high model, the Frank Kozik model also comes in a 20-inch version.  Do we want that one for the office?  Of course!

Jay was on hand for the Austrian release put together by Sixxa Store in Vienna – and what a show they put on.  The “Kidrobot for Swatch” collection was eye candy, to be sure.  But the event also included a private exhibition Sixxa put together called ‘Time for Toys,’ which combined over 40 Gent watches and Dunnies in themed installations.  And any party that has waiters carrying ice cream sandwiches on silver trays – well you know that’s a good time!
