Refund policy

This policy covers three situations: returning an item because you changed your mind (Standard returns), your right to withdraw if you are a consumer in the European Union (European Union right of withdrawal), and items that arrive faulty, damaged, or incorrect (Damages and issues). If you are an EU consumer, the European Union right of withdrawal gives you broader rights, and that section takes precedence over any more restrictive term here.

Standard returns
If you change your mind about a purchase, you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a standard return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You will also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, contact us at orders@curioandco.com with your order number and the item or items you would like to return. Please wait for us to accept your return before sending anything back. Items sent to us without an accepted return request will not be accepted.

Once your return is accepted, we will email you the return address along with instructions on how and where to send your package. For standard returns, the return shipping cost is your responsibility.

Exceptions and non-returnable items

Certain items cannot be returned, including custom products (such as special orders, personalized items, or one-of-a-kind items) and hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. We also cannot accept returns on gift cards.
If you are an EU consumer, the items exempt from your right of withdrawal are limited by law. See the European Union right of withdrawal section for how exceptions apply to you.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order on arrival and contact us immediately if the item is defective or damaged, or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Items that are faulty, damaged, or incorrect are covered by your statutory rights, and no restocking fee or return shipping cost applies to them.

Exchanges
The fastest way to get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

European Union right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. This statutory right takes precedence over any more restrictive term in this policy.

The withdrawal period. The period is 14 days from the day you, or someone you nominate, receive the goods. If your order arrives in more than one shipment, the period runs from the day you receive the last item.

How to withdraw. You can withdraw in any of these ways:

  • Use the withdrawal form on our site, labeled "Withdraw from contract here" in the footer of every page. This is the quickest route and sends your request straight to us.
  • Send us a clear statement of your decision, by email to orders@curioandco.com or by mail to Curio and Co. OG, Klosterneuburgerstrasse 90/34, 1200 Vienna, Austria.
  • Copy and complete the model form below. Using the form is optional.

To meet the deadline, it is enough to send your communication before the 14-day period ends.

Condition of the goods. You may handle and inspect the goods as you would in a shop. You do not need to keep the original packaging or tags in order to withdraw. We may reduce your refund to reflect any loss in value that results from handling the goods beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning.

Returning the goods. Please send the goods back without undue delay, and in any case within 14 days of telling us you are withdrawing. You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.

Your refund. We will refund all payments we received from you, including the cost of standard outbound delivery, within 14 days of the day you inform us of your withdrawal. If you chose a more expensive delivery option than our standard rate, we refund the standard rate. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back, or until you have supplied proof that you have sent them, whichever is earlier. We will use the same payment method you used for the order, and the refund will not cost you anything. No restocking fee applies to withdrawals.

Discounted goods. Sale and discounted items carry the same right of withdrawal as full-price items.

Exceptions. Some purchases are exempt from the right of withdrawal, including goods made to your specifications or clearly personalized, perishable goods, and sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed. Where an exception applies to your order, we will make this clear.

Model withdrawal form
Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract. Using it is optional.

Refunds
This section applies to standard returns. If you are an EU consumer withdrawing from a purchase, the refund terms in the European Union right of withdrawal section above apply instead.

We will notify you once we have received and inspected your return and let you know the outcome. For standard returns that are not made under the European Union right of withdrawal, a 20% restocking fee may be deducted from the invoice total, and any refund of shipping cost applies to the standard rate only. This restocking fee does not apply to withdrawals made under the European Union right of withdrawal, or to items that are faulty, damaged, or incorrect.

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. Withdrawals under the European Union right of withdrawal are refunded within the 14-day period described in that section. Please remember that it can take additional time for your bank or card company to process and post the refund.
