Curio & Co. plays classic board game Candy Land.

Candy Land (1949)

Kids and Candy, what could be a better mix?

Probably the first board game for most kids is Candy Land.  Created in 1949, Candy Land is a standard “racing game”, meaning that players race around the board’s path to reach the finish line first.

Of course, a big appeal for any kid is simply being able to travel through a world where Gumdrop Mountains or Lollipop Woods exist.  That’s the kind of Geography that a six-year-old can get behind.

So even after sixty years, Candy Land still hits a sweet spot in the board game world.   Sugary snacks are optional.
