Print the Daily Sudoku in Standard or Large Print

Some puzzles are just better with a pencil in hand.

There's a quiet pleasure in a Sudoku on paper. A cup of coffee, a freshly sharpened pencil, a corner of the kitchen table, and nothing on the screen to glance away to. If that sounds like your kind of afternoon, the daily puzzle is happy to leave the screen and join you.

Every Curio & Co. daily Sudoku can be printed straight from the puzzle page in two sizes: a standard grid, or a large-print grid sized for low-vision solvers. Printing is free for everyone, works from any device that can print (including phones and tablets), and needs no membership or extra software.

Who Can Print

Printing the daily Sudoku is open to everyone. There's no club membership required to use the print buttons: any visitor who can see a puzzle can print it.

A quick note on which puzzles you can reach. Five new Sudoku puzzles are posted free every day, open for anyone to play and print. When the day ends, those puzzles move into the archive, and reaching past days there is a perk of Sudoku Solvers Club membership. Once you're on a puzzle page, though, printing is open to all. The print controls themselves never depend on your membership.

Two Sizes, and Why

The print panel offers two sizes, aimed at two different needs.

The ‘Print’ button produces a standard grid, sized for solving comfortably at a desk or table. The ‘Print Large’ button produces a much bigger grid, made specifically for people with low vision or other visual impairments who need larger print to solve with ease. This large-print option is a genuine accessibility feature, not simply a bigger-for-fun version. (Though if you just like a roomy grid, nobody’s checking credentials at the door.)

The difference is substantial. The standard grid prints at 78mm by 78mm (about 3.1 by 3.1 inches). The large-print grid prints at 165mm by 165mm (about 6.5 by 6.5 inches), more than double the size. Both lay out on a single sheet and fit comfortably on A4 or US Letter paper.

How to Print, Step by Step

  1. On any Sudoku puzzle page, pick the difficulty you want to solve first. The sheet prints whichever difficulty tab is selected.
  2. Find the action bar under the puzzle grid and click or tap the ‘Print’ button.
  3. A print preview panel opens. It shows the puzzle, its difficulty level, the puzzle's title, the Curio & Co. logo, and a copyright line.
  4. Choose one of the two buttons inside the panel: ‘Print Large’ on the left, or ‘Print’ on the right.
  5. Your browser's normal print dialog opens. Choose your printer, paper, and other options there, exactly as you would for any web page.

To close the preview without printing, click the X in its top-right corner, click anywhere outside the panel, or press Escape.

Playing in full-screen mode? You can print from there at any time too, on a computer, phone, or tablet. Instead of the action bar under the grid, look for the printer icon in the top-right corner. Tapping it opens the same preview panel, and everything from there works exactly as above.

What Ends Up on the Page

The printed sheet contains the puzzle you currently have open, along with its difficulty label, the article title, the Curio & Co. logo, and a copyright line, all on a single page. The solution doesn't print, so you get a clean puzzle to solve and nothing that gives the answer away.

A Puzzle to Take with You

For Sudoku Solvers Club members, the archive opens up a nice little habit. Work back through past days and print a small stack to keep by your armchair, tuck into a bag for a train ride, or bring along on a trip where the Wi-Fi is patchy and the scenery is good. A printed puzzle asks nothing of your battery. (And no notifications demanding your attention.)

Prefer to Play on Screen?

If you'd rather solve right in the browser, the daily sudoku also has a full set of keyboard shortcuts for quick play without the mouse.

So print one out, sharpen your pencil of choice, and enjoy the rare puzzle that never needs charging.

A Few Quick Answers

Is printing the daily Sudoku free?

Yes. Printing the Curio & Co. daily Sudoku is free for every visitor, with no membership or paid tier required.

What's the difference between the ‘Print’ and ‘Print Large’ buttons?

The 'Print' button makes a standard grid at 78mm by 78mm (about 3.1 by 3.1 inches), sized for solving at a desk. The 'Print Large' button makes a large-print grid at 165mm by 165mm (about 6.5 by 6.5 inches), more than double the size, for solvers with low vision or anyone who wants bigger, clearer numbers.

Can I print puzzles from previous days?

The five puzzles posted each day are free for everyone to view and print. When the day ends they move into the archive, and accessing past days there requires a Sudoku Solvers Club membership. Once you're on any puzzle page you can reach, printing works the same for everyone.

What size does the puzzle print at?

The standard grid prints at 78mm by 78mm (about 3.1 by 3.1 inches). The large-print grid prints at 165mm by 165mm (about 6.5 by 6.5 inches). Either will fit on a single sheet of A4 or US Letter paper.

Can I save the puzzle as a PDF instead of printing it?

Yes. Because printing hands off to your browser's normal print dialog, you can choose Save as PDF there, just as you can on any web page, and keep or print it later.

Does the solution print too?

No. The printed sheet includes only the puzzle, its difficulty label, the title, the Curio & Co. logo, and a copyright line. The answers aren't included. (The answers stay safely on screen, out of temptation’s reach.)

Can I print from my phone or tablet?

Yes. If your device can print, the puzzle page will print from it, whether you’re on the puzzle post or in full-screen play. The two size options work the same way on mobile as on a computer.
