About Ghosts on Laundry Day

"I remember asking my Dad, 'What do ghosts look like on laundry day?' And he told this elaborate story about all the sheets hanging on the line, and the ghosts waiting for them to dry wearing florid prints of chartreuse and hot pink, or ratty sheets that were patched and faded, or some just embarrassed eyes peeking out from a barrel. After that, anytime we'd pass an old barrel, my Dad would cover his eyes and say, 'Don't look, you'll just embarrassing ghost on laundry day." Meg MacDougall, speaking about her father Cooper MacDougall.
